When we found this little guy in the forest, we had no clue what a fighter he was gonna be. His face was so painfully swollen from a rattlesnake bite; we honestly had no clue how he was gonna survive. But before I tell you the rest of his story, I do wanna let you know that he does get his happily ever after!
We found him and his sister out in the forest, up on the side of the mountain that is known for having rattlesnake dens. With the help of some hikers, we were all able to get them down safely. But that was just the start of his tough little journey to get better. Our plan was to get them somewhere safe, to get them better, and then find them a loving home. We were scared he wasn't gonna even make it through the night, but somehow this little puppy continued to fight.
Slowly, as the swelling went down, his personality really started to show. That scared little puppy we found in the forest finally got a chance to just be a puppy. The more time we spent with him, the harder it was imagining letting him go. We had agreed that we're only gonna foster him, but we realized somewhere along the way, he was already home.
His sister got a happy ending, too. My brother and his family decided they were gonna adopt her. And my husband drove over 900 Miles to get her to her new home. Who knew their journey of much trouble was gonna end up being the thing that LED them to so much love? It's hard for me to tell this story without starting to choke up.
This is an incredible rescue story! Talk about the right time and place. These pups were all alone in the woods with no one looking for them. It's not their fault they ended up in rattlesnake territory. However, the universe was not done with them and made sure they crossed paths with a couple who were not only able to rescue them, but also give them happy homes to be loved and cared for, furever. They even have healthy fur siblings to play with now! An inspirational doggo story of bravery and fate.
There's one thing we didn't tell you about him. His name. We decided to name him Boaz, as he represents so much strength. Because when you look at him now, you don't see that scared puppy with that swollen face. I just see a happy, healthy boy who fought so hard to be here. And I'm just so thankful that we get to be the family that he gets to go home to.
Welcome home, Boaz! You really did live up to your name.
His sister, who avoided the snakes but was still found looking just as sad, also got a happy ending! She got to see her brother heal and blossom into a fun and silly little puppy. They got to play together as healthy and loved dogs, and she was adopted by a family member of the couple who rescued them. So now she and her brother, who was adopted by the rescuers, can still be in each other's lives. It's so wholesome, I might cry!
